FLEETING MOMENTS is a completely new entertainment in words, music and song. For one hour the performers will present scenes, comic and serious, set in Camden’s past.
So we invite you to come and spend an unusual sixty minutes – by the end of which you will also know about the menu of William Bruges’ banquet, the daily life of a ‘fly boat’ man and the sad end of a ‘step girl’. If you aren’t saddened by the fate of Mr and Mrs Osburn, or don’t laugh out loud at the rendering of Cherry Ripe,by our Italian guest singer, Lotta Cannelloni, we’ll give you back the price of your admission – which won’t make you rich as all events are free.
The rain eased off just in time for the Elm Village Season Celebrations just before the Christmas Holidays. A good time was had by all. Special thanks to all the organisers and performers including David & Harriet, Ed & Frances, Zoe, Jan, Pat, Peter, Nigel, Wendy and staff at the Constitution, Mike and his crew at Camden Garden Centre. Here’s a selection of photos sent in by residents.
Each year, our friends at the Camden Garden Centre donate a Christmas Tree to Evtra. The tree will be on the Green in the Crescent. It’s also a tradition for residents to gather round the tree.
Please join your neighbours and friends for a candle-lit family celebration around the tree on the Green in the Crescent (Rossendale Way). 19th December 5:30pm – 6:15pm
This is followed by our ever-popular festive sing-song which takes place in the Constitution at 7:00pm. We gather in the bar cellar, with mince pies and mulled wine courtesy of our host Wendy, the Constitution’s lovely landlady. This is your chance to wish your neighbours the best of the season and belt out Away in a Manger as heartily as you can.
Members of the EVTRA committee will be delivering member newsletters to your door in the next few days. It contains updates on noise, Neighbourhood Watch, events, useful contacts and more. We’ll be posting it online as well soon.
